5 Ways to Boost Natural Fertility

A fertility journey often involves multiple medications such as IVF medications and those for additional conditions such as thyroid, endometriosis, immunology and PCOS.

When your body processes this many medications, although necessary, it does take you away from your natural ability to self-heal. So we are going to look at 5 ways that you can de-toxify your body, raise your vibration and support natural health, healing and fertility.

Ideally, to be in a state of health some of these methods such as food and exercise should be implemented from childhood. But don't worry if this has not always been the case.

It's very hard to change habits, especially if you have grown up with lifestyle patterns that are the opposite of this list.

Be proud of yourself if you have the intention to change them and bring a natural element to your fertility, which will ultimately serve you in the long run!

  1. Food and How You Eat

Most of you will be well aware of natural healthy foods for fertility such as:

  • high proteins

  • avoiding sugar

  • avoiding processed foods

  • avoiding plastic in food and food preparation

  • a rainbow diet full of vegetables

  • organic food

However a large part of a natural diet also includes honouring your digestive system by the way in which you approach meal times. In Chinese Medicine this means:

Supporting your Spleen Qi

The Qi is the energy in the body. The Spleen's role is to convert food into Qi (energy) which is then used for every cellular process in the body, including egg production. The Spleen becomes weakened when we rush meal times, eat low vibrational food such as sugar and eat in a state of anxiety or stress. Here are some ways to support your spleen Qi by HOW you choose to eat:

  • Eat in a quiet and calm environment

  • Have regular mealtimes with sufficient gaps, avoid snacking

  • Eat when you feel emotionally regulated

  • Avoid distractions when you eat

  • Eat warm, cooked foods and have warm drinks

  • Don't eat standing up

  1. Exercise

Our bodies are build to move. Health conditions, which can underpin fertility diagnoses do often set in if there has been a sedentary lifestyle.

Yes, an active job is a benefit, but it doesn't replace a designated time set aside for exercising. This is because exercise moves the Qi, the energy, the blood and the emotions. Cardio exercise is one of the best forms of achieving this. Being on your feet or walking whilst at work, does not have the same effect as it is unlikely to be intense or cardio based and it is not as readily associated with free time or enjoyment.

You may have heard to avoid high intensity training such as intense running or HIIT. There are also times to avoid cardio exercise and weight training TOTALLY such as during IVF stims, to avoid ovarian torsion.

Here are some examples of fertility friendly exercise:

  • Cardio exercise such as low intensity steady state (cycling, cross trainer, swimming, jogging, zumba, bungee, team sports)

  • Weights (weight training builds muscle mass and strengthens bones)

  • Yoga, pilates, stretching, gymnastics (developing strength and flexibility)

Try to select a sport or physical activity that you enjoy. This also improves your mood, distracts you from thinking about fertility and can bring a sociable element.

3. Nature

  • How much are you walking in green, healing nature?

  • Do you need to do more?

Nature is incredibly healing and can get you in touch with your natural physical fertility.

Being in nature also clears your mind, is calming and helps to move the Qi, helping you to process any emotions or feelings rather than sitting with them.

Walking in nature is a good time to undertake one of the fertility meditations, or just listen to the bird song and observe the animals, sky and trees.

Here are some spiritual/ nature practices to include:

  • Morning routine - do your affirmations outside as you welcome in the day and stand underneath the sun.

  • Grounding - stand on the grass with bare feet (as long as the grass is dry and the weather is mild or better)

  • Go outside under the light of a full moon and burn any limiting beliefs

  • Stand under the night sky frequently (daily if possible) and observe the planets, moon or stars. Use this time for your gratitude practice.

  • Raise your vibration by spending time outside at sunrise or sunset, if this is practical, or by water. Water is very healing.

Ideally we would spend as much time as possible outdoors and walk in nature at least daily. How can you incorporate this into your weekly routine?

  1. Acupuncture

Acupuncture rebalances your meridians and enables you to begin to activate the self healing mechanisms within your own system.

We use needles to activate Qi or energy in certain meridians which flow under the skin and fascia. These meridians travel to the organs that we are supporting by the fine tuning of your Qi, blood, Yin, Yang and organs with specific needle placement.

  • If you are processing emotions we calm the heart by working on the heart channel.

  • If you are experiencing PMT, headaches, pain, bloating, abdominal cramps, stress. PCOS or ovulation issues we move the Liver energy with specific needles on the Liver channel.

  • If you are experiencing period pain, heavy periods, clots, dark blood, endometriosis, fibroids and reproductive immunology, we move the Blood with leg and abdomen points.

  • If you have low progesterone, low AMH or egg quality, we support the Kidney energy.

  • If you have a thin uterine lining, dizziness, anxiety we work on nourishing the Blood.

    5. Thoughts and Words

Are you inviting in the same old health conditions or are you attracting high vibrational health?

Your thoughts and words are so important for creating your reality. This often stems from your level of self belief and inner child issues of self-worth, pressure and expectations from yourself or others.

Consider re-framing how you talk about health and about your body.

  • Do you have to talk differently to others about your health?

  • Do you have to change your self talk?

It takes 30 days to repattern the neural pathways in your brain. If you have been speaking negatively about your fertility, or you have been letting doubt creep in, your neurones continue to make the same negative connections associated fertility with, for example, 'being too old', 'not being good enough' and other unhelpful thought processes.

However you can change your neural pathways. Here is a check list.....

  • Write a list of your fertility fears or limiting beliefs.

  • Burn the list, preferably at a full moon, in the moon light.

  • Use the 'Fertility Fear Clearing' meditation

  • Write new affirmations or use the affirmation sheet from Creation Acupuncture.

  • Write affirmations in the present tense 'I AM' and set your intentions for the highest good.

  • Repeat your positive affirmations every day consistently.

  • Catch yourself when you begin to talk negatively about yourself, your health, your fertility or anything in your life.

  • Practise gratitude daily.
