Treatments - What to Expect

First Time Treatments:

When booking your appointment, you will be asked to complete a form called an 'Intake Form.' This gives a picture of your current fertility health and any conditions you have suffered from in the past.  

Your acupuncturist will take your pulse and ask to see your tongue.
Your pulse will be taken on both hands and by hand.

What we see from your tongue's natural state gives us insights into your health and both the pulse and tongue diagnoses form part of our treatment plan for you. 

You will receive a treatment where fine needles are inserted into the skin. If you are scared of needles or wary about acupuncture, we can start with very few, small needles and retain them for a short amount of time if you prefer. Acupuncture needles are very fine in comparison with hypodermic needles. 

After the insertion of the needles for each session you will rest for approximately 20 minutes. 

Subsequent Treatments:

Acupuncture is a therapy that works with your body to enable it to heal and strengthen the fertility organs, regulate the hormones. This doesn't usually occur in one session alone. 

For fertility acupuncture you will usually need weekly sessions for at least three months.
