Chord Cutting - The Missing Part of the Fertility Puzzle

Immune System Issues and Retained Pathogens

When we diagnose an immune system problem such as NK cells in Chinese Medicine there are four major diagnoses:

  1. Blood Stasis

  2. Lung Deficiency

  3. Spleen Deficiency

  4. Retained Pathogen

In previous blog articles, we have discussed the role of the lung and throat chakra in immune system issues and the role of the spleen in digestive and immune system connections.

Blood stasis, usually presents as brown blood spotting, heavy, painful periods with large dark clots in the menstrual blood. The pain would be stabbing and in a fixed location in the lower abdomen and/or lower back and in severe cases, there may be endometriosis, fibroids and polyps.

When we treat the immune system, we support the throat chakra and lung with points on the lung channel of the arm. We support the solar plexus chakra, digestive system and spleen with points on the spleen and stomach channels of the leg and abdomen. And thirdly, we move the blood in the uterus with acupuncture needles on the lower abdomen.

Moving a retained pathogen which is part of an NK cell immune system profile is somewhat more difficult. It can be done with a certain combination of acupuncture points but is more swiftly treated with a combination of acupuncture, Chinese herbs and emotional healing. To discover why, let's discuss what a retained pathogen is.

What is a Retained Pathogen?

A retained pathogen is a foreign invader that has entered the body in the form of a virus, bacteria or vaccine usually many years ago. The body struggled to fight it off and it was suppressed, either by antibiotics, or a weak immune system at the time. This pathogen then remained in the body, usually at a level of the tissues or cells or in a certain organ such as the uterus. It lies dormant and doesn't cause any 'problems' in terms of repeated illness, but it can cause a heightened immune system response. The body may produce white blood cells such as natural killers cells which then fight against an embryo, thinking that it is a foreign invader. You don't get sick, you may even have no classic auto-immune diseases such as inflammation, arthritis, lupus or allergies but you may have implantation failure or recurrent miscarriages.

This can be treated in biomedicine. A pathogenic invasion leads to blood clotting problems. You may be prescribed prednisolone (steroids) or intralipids (intravenous fats) to dampen down the immune system response or blood thinners if you have clotting factors. But these are prescribed if blood tests or a uterine biopsy show a higher level than normal of NK cells.

Here are some signs of having a retained pathogen in your body.

  1. Previous STI

  2. Unusual response to covid vaccine

  3. Unusual response to vaccination in childhood

  4. Food poisoning on holiday

  5. HPV

  6. Recurrent cystitis

How Can We Treat a Retained Pathogen Emotionally?

Emotionally and spiritually, a retained pathogen means that your body is holding onto a deep rooted feeling. When this manifests as a blood clotting factor or retained STI in the cervix, or anywhere relating to the sacral chakra (vagina, cervix, uterus, fallopian tubes, eggs, ovaries and follicles) it is usually associated with inner child wounding and/or relationship trauma, usually both.

The positive emotion of the sacral chakra is freedom to be yourself. Exactly as an innocent child would be before any societal or family trauma.

The negative emotion of the sacral chakra is shame and guilt. This can stem from feeling guilty or not good enough as a child. And later in life, it relates to body shame, shame relating to toxic or abusive relationships and sexual shame.

If, for example, you may have contracted an STI when you were younger, and associated it with embarrassment. If it was retained in the body as a dormant infection, the embarrassment and shame associated with the STI would literally be blocking your sacral chakra and preventing implantation.

This is similar for abusive relationships, which involve an element of shame because that is how the person controlled you.

Or if you had an abortion. Or had a miscarriage. It may bring you comfort to know that the souls of babies choose whether or not they stay depending on the lesson that they want to learn or impart in this life. The soul of a baby who chose to come to this earth only in the womb, came to help the Mother learn one of her spiritual lessons. Usually this lesson is unconditional love and forgiveness.

No one judges you. You are supported. The point here, is not to make you feel guilty, but for you to recognise that you are a powerful woman who is worthy of all good things including of being a good Mother. There is no place in your life for body shame, for guilt about decisions you made in the past or embarrassment about experiences you had when you were young.

We all have a past. The past does not define you.

It is time to let go of any negative associations from a time period when you were not as healed as you are now. When you release the past and cut the chords that are necessary for your healing, you can access the higher emotion of the sacral chakra which is the key to healing it. Remember that this is freedom.

Freedom to be who you really are a soul.

So How Do We Cut Chords?

  • Journal and burn your feelings about the sacral chakra, early life, early relationships, sexual experiences and exes.

  • Intend to forgive the person/people who caused you trauma and to forgive yourself if this is needed.

  • Access the Full Moon Chord Cutting Meditation

  • Access the Forgiveness Meditation.

  • Begin to take part in activities that heal your sacral chakra and promote freedom, such as dancing.

I hope that this helped!

Have a great week!
